My grandfather is James Delaney of Swan Hill Victoria (dec), my father is Robert James Delaney. I beleive our family history traces back to the Lakes District in the UK. William and wife Lavinia sold jewellery and metal fishing lures circa 1880 and Henry T.and John Delaney sold guns, decoys and metal fishing lures around 1869-70. I need to know the relationship between William and Henry and John. Williams's dad was 'old' John Delaney born in 1788, married to Fanny. Henry's dad was Cornelius. Dont know younger John's dad or how Cornelius and John's dad connect. My Grandfather was Chester DeLaney, an orphan, and the only connection to Ireland I have been able to come up with was that his mothers last name was Fitzpatrick and we have her original papers from Ellis Island in New York from the late 1800's. My Grandfather was Patrick L Delaney and my Great Grandfather was Francis [Frank] Delaney a teacher/head teacher. I know that my grandfather had brothers one called Frank and the other called Richard [a catholic priest]. All are now dead and have been for many years so that's as far as I have managed to get.
