She cared for her parents in later years. She did part-ti me teaching at District Schools. Mary was artistic and creative, and al so produced Plays and concerts. She had a love of gardening, and the gard en at "Athloine" was always something special, where garden fetes were he ld to raise funds for the church and district community. She suffered a b rain haemorrage whilst still quite young, which left her with a physical i mpairment, but she manage to keep the home going, with help from family m embers. She was a good communicator, loving and tolerant, and had great f aith. She was much respected by her siblings and the community. She di ed in 1965.

M. F. O'Connor VX137379 Mick was born in 1916, and was a twin of Tom. Grandma was ill after the ir birth, and Mick was reared for the first months of his life by family f riend, Mrs. Ryan. He visited her every year on her birthday, until her de ath at 95 years. He went to school at St. Brendan's, Coragulac, and wh en he left, worked with his Uncle Paddy Hogan, on his farm. He marri ed in 1939 to Amy Woods, and worked in Melbourne until he joined the Ar my in W.W.2. He always attended the ANZAC march in Melbourne, with his fr iend Coley O'Keefe from Terang. After the war he aquired a small dairy fa rm, next to Stepnell Farm, and not far from "Althone". He milked cows a nd grew onions, and a thrstle dare not raise it's head! As a young m an he played football and tennis, and loved a game of cards. The Monday n ight 6 handed Euchre, with partners Sam Williamson, H.P. Ryan, and Elva Ma hood was "Sacrosant"! He was musical and sang duets with Amy, at the "Ath loine" singalongs. He was a loving father and grandfather, always interes ted in his children's lives and activities. He suffered hi first heart at tack at aged 50, and died in 1979 from same. He was survived by Amy, w ho died in 1989. Wendy died in 1981.

He never married, and worked the family farm, "Alth one" with Jack. As a young man, he was slight of build, but was a very go od footballer, whichn his awards attest to. He was an all-round sportsma n, playing cricket and tennis slao. He had a quick and delightful sen se of humour, well remembered by his nieces and nephews. Besided his fa rm work with Jack, he tended the vegetable patch in "Althone's" garden. L ater in Colac, he had a large and well tended vegie garden. He was a ve ry kind man, much loved by his nieces and nephews. He slao enjoyed the fa vourite O'Connor card pastime - Solo. He spent ,any years as gate-keepe r, with Allan Stepnell, at the Alvie Football Club, and they were both reg ared there as :Legends". He died in 1986.
